Hewlett PackardHP announces the Envy M4 and Pavilion 14 and 15

HP has revealed three new Windows 8 laptops, which are the Envy M4, Pavilion Sleekbook 14 and 15. The Envy M4 has been designed with brushed-aluminium look and will have a 14-inch high definition display. It will be powered by the third generation of Intel processors.

It will have the option of Wi-Di enabling you to showcase images and videos onto an external display wirelessly. The sound system on this laptop will have the Beats audio coming with a subwoofer and two speakers as well.

In addition, it will have HP’s ProtectSmart that prevents data loss in case you do drop the laptop. There is a cooling system and other security features.

The HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14 and 15 has been designed to be ultra-thin and will have 14 and 15-inch displays respectively. It will be available in two colours, “sparkling black” and “ruby red” and have up to 1TB of storage.

HP also announced that the Envy M4 will be released on October 26th, the same day Windows 8 is released.

Acer reveals the Iconia Tab A110

Acer has unveiled its new 7-inch tablet in the form of the Iconia Tab A110, which will have Android 4.1 Jelly Bean running on it. Acer has said this tablet can easily be held in one hand and you can use it to browse the web, view images and video, or even do work on it.

The A110 aims to take on the Google Nexus 8 and also Apple, who are rumoured to be releasing the iPad mini. It will have a 7-inch display offering a resolution of 1024 by 600 and will be powered by an nVidia Tegra 3 1.2GHz quad-core processor. It will have 1GB of RAM and comes 8GB of internal memory with a microSD slot to further extend the storage.

It will have a 2-megapixel front-facing cameras for making video calls. In addition, there will be a HDMI and micro USB 2.0 port. The battery life on this tablet will last 240 hours in standby mode and 7.5 hours for video playback.
